my fish tank seems to be having a little eco-system going on... snails and worms...

...living in it!? i've never put anything in my fish tank apart from my fish and a few live plants and ive seen about 5 little snails and some worms swimming about. the worms aren't the flat ones on the outside of the glass, they're really tiny and swim around in a kind of "S" shape..

are they harmful to my fish? i dont like the idea of worms living in my tank.. is it a sign im doing something wrong in looking after my tank?
oh and the worms are white and the snails are brown..

So try to take them out with a net or something
