i have all sorts of different plants in my tank, but they all seem to die. they kind of look like when lettuce starts to go bad, like how it kinda gets bruised and you can see through it. i have suffiecient lighting, i have tried co2 and fertiliser, but they dont come back. i have spent lots of money on plants, but i never get more than a couple of months out of each plant. can anyone help?

well..in my opinion, you need to get new plants, but I know how to keep it from happening again.
start with something easy, and get some of those lights that give off real sunlight, or something. Just leave your tank dirty, dont clean it or anything, but water changes once every 1-2 months is ok, plants need fish waste and all that stuff, it works, trust me, you will have thriving plants and they'll thank you for it, lol.

Well the best information i can give you is my own experience. I have a 55 gallon tank with 2 normal t12 fluorescent 40 watt bulbs, home made co2, and fertilizer pellets which i place directly under each plant. The main reasons for the death of plants is mostly not enough lighting. Either not enough watts, not correct light spectrum, or the light is not on long enough. To correct these you should have at least the same watts per gallon ratio, a light spectrum in the blue range, and leave the lights on for around 12 hours a day. If the lighting is off the plants will not take in the fertilizer or co2. Also you could switch to low light plants like swords and ferns. These plants flourish in all types of conditions. I hope i helped.
