I got three goldfish at a carnival last weekend, and for a tank i got a really really really big jar and i put a filter in it (it hangs off the side) and i keep the lid on it because of my cats (it's not an air tight lid, it's just a cover. and they seem to either always be sitting under the filter (theres about two inches between the bottom of the filter and the bottom of the jar)
sometimes they stare down my cat when it sits on the desk, or they play in the stream of bubbles from the filter, and they chase each other around during food time, but other than that they look really really bored constantly.
am i supposed to entertain them, or what? because their life looks really really dull. i can't afford plants or anything...
the jar is about 3 gallons and my friend has 4 gold fish in a smaller tank without a filter and they've lived over a year... so i'm not really concerned about it.
