my fish keep dieing wot could be wrong?

i bought some fish for an empty tank that i had but when i put them in they suddenly died a couple weeks later i made sure that the tank was fully clean as it was an old tank.then we got some more fish and we put one of are fantails in it with the new once who was perfectly health but today has died and now not long since one of my new fish have died iv moved the other 2 to my other tank down stairs cos i think it might be the tank wot else could it be
could it be cleaning product i use
 
Did you cycle the tank before you added the fish? What size tank was it and how was it filtered?

I'm going to go with it wasn't cycled properly and the fish died from ammonia poisoning.

What cleaning product DID you use for the tank? Soaps/bleach will kill fish.
