my fish has a growth on its side and i don't know what it is?

my cat scratched my fish one day and it got a little swollen but its not been getting better its just been getting bigger and bigger and i can not figure out whats happening to my poor little beta fishy

do you have it in a bowl? at least put a lid on that bowl if you are going to be ignorant enough to use one. if you dont use a bowl, still put a lid on it! its wound, try medicating it, you would usually mention how long ago this one day was, and would mention and ask about it that one day.
