my fish got over his ick, how long do i still treat for it?

i've been treating my fish with malachite green and last saturday when i came home from work, i noticed that the last of his white spots were gone. First thing sunday morning, i did a 50% water change and added more malachite green.
Now my question is..... how long do i need to keep treating him to know for sure that all the ick is gone.
