Hey!

I finally got round to uploading my first short film!
Please check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPjKDCAF220.
It's been shown at quite a few local festivals in my area! and also got 2nd prize at a film festival.
It is by no way a masterpiece, it was made on a budget of 8 quid , shot on dv, in 2 hours and at the time I had no microphone connected to the cam!
But I hope you like it, let me know what you think, either on youtube or on this thread!

I have just finished editing my 2nd film aswell and am currently shooting a music video for a freind and am adapting Macbeth.

Thankyou very much :)

I would like other peoples opinions aswell :)

Did you notice the colour is actually all off hue Compass400? Just a little touch I added that few people seem to notice, when they try and figure out why that scene doesnt look quite right.

I'ts only just under 5 minutes and I might be tommorows big director ;) (im only 18! it could happen hehe)

Hmm... That subway looks familiar... Then again, I suppose they all do...

Okay, I'll bulletpoint this into positives and negatives; don't be put off by the criticisms, they're constructive honestly!

Likes:
* Subject matter.

* Black and white was nicely over/under exposed - it so felt gritty and caustic! Crushed blacks and blooming whites gave it a real throbbing passion.

* Brilliant actress - was it her first film role?

* Nice variety of shots; kept the pace constant and quick.

Dislikes:
* 'German Expressionist' elements were slightly lost in the milieu; don't be afraid to add emphasis to those obtuse lines!

* Too many camera tricks/ overstylising for an emotional subject matter; let your wonderful actress take centre-stage rather than playing with that distracting 'fairground mirror' effect - sometimes less is more :)

* The last line of dialogue. An emotional ride shouldn't end with such an abrupt jolt with no time to register her response; seems anachronistic considering the title of the film. Then again, I guess it's supposed to ;)

Would love to take a look at your next film; keep it up!
