My financial aid is being process but due to having to submit additional documents?

I don't know if it will be finished by the Jan. 6 2010 tuition deadline. My question is if it is not processed in time and I have to pay my tuition and pay it before the year is out can I claim it on my taxes? and if so, when my financial aid goes through how will that affect my taxes? and would I get all my money back?
