My Emulator is being weird?

Ok so i have a emulator for the Nintendo ds and iv got pokemon platinum running off of it,everyday when i go to play it it either works fine or plays really slow like its al distorted,my space on the computer is fine,iv got a good laptop as it works fine on it most days,anyone shed some light on it and how i can make it run run properly? ther games like drag racer or online games have the same problems,thanks all
 
get nocashgba 2.6a whichi s the best and get it direcly from the website where it says the ds part cause it already has the ds control setup and emulation setup. i have platinum and it is fast as the regular ds platinum
