My emotions and feelings lashes out when I'm reading a romance novel. Normal?

Some people think this is just because I am emotional (and yes I am VERY emotional.) But ever since I started being interested in romance/fantasy novels, my emotions starts flaring up really quick. I noticed it started happening more when I began reading the "Vampire Academy" series. I love it and mainly I'm interested in the relationship and romance in it. But when something doesn't go the way I wanted to, for example when the couple break up, or when one of them stays away from the other because they dont want to hurt the other anymore, even though they both love each other. Like Edward and Bella in New Moon. Edward left Bella, thinking that she will be safer and that she could be happier without him. When things like that starts happening I feel a serious anger in me. Or when something really sad happens, I start crying. I've became more sensitive and emotional since I've been in a serious relationship. I don't know 100% sure, but it's possibly that I think I could put myself in the characters shoes and know how they feel because of relationship experiences I've been through. Personally, I think that is why my emotions have grown so much and I start getting so angry or crying when I read. I'm on the 5th Vampire Academy novel out of 6. I know this isn't a big deal, but I just want to know, is it normal? Do others have this problem? My emotions (usually anger) starts lashing out really easily when I read Vampire Academy. Does anybody have this problem?
