Nero does not care what type of media you use, but the DRIVE does. It depends on the burner if you can use a specific type of DVD media. There are 4 types of media, +R and -R which are write once, read many disks, and +RW and -RW which are erasable, rewritable media. My computer DVD burner can handle all 4 types of media (I also use Nero software which came with my burner), but my home DVD recorder can only record on -R and -RW disks, but it can READ all 4 types to PLAY. So, as a consequence, I only use -R and -RW media since I can record on my home recorder OR my DVD burner in my computer without having to think about the media I am using. I'm confused here, as a DVD-ROM is a READ ONLY device. I initially purchased +R when I bought the burner for the computer as I did not know any different and the +R disks were cheapest, but I've used all of them and replaced the media with -R and -RW disks.
