My DVD reader won't write cd's and DVD's.Help.?

I had windows XP SP2 and it could burn cd's.Then i installed Win XP SP3 and it could't burn anymore.Then i installed Windows 7 and it could burn again.And then(a bit too much..XD) i installed Win XP sp3 again and it ca't burn...i tried sp2 but ti still can't burn.....WTF!?!?...maybe somtheng to do with the driver???
