My Ducati 848 struck by car while Parked on the street for a little bit?

I had parked my Ducati 848 oustide my freind's building and when I came out it someone had knocked it over, most probably with their car. Damage was extensive, about 68% of value. I am going to speak to the insurance company and file a claim? What should I consider while filing the claim? Any things that I should watch out for? Any one out there who experienced something similar to this? Thanks!
 
Dude, that sucks. I'm about 99% sure they're going to total the bike because the cost to fix is more than the value of the bike. What they'll do is come look at it, determine the damage, and offer you a check for the value. The check will be the value less whatever your deductible is but if you still owe money on it then you'll probably be out quite a bit. You can then buy a new bike or use the money for something else. I've got an 1198 if you want it!!
