MY DOG WONT STOP WHINING!?

He whines because he knows whining will get him your attention (like petting). Ignore him when he whines. Pet him and treat him when he doesn't.
 
I have a male shih tzu named Furby. He is always whining. He isnt allowed in the livingroom so there is a gate that keeps him and my other dogs in the kitchen. When im in the livingroom he wont stop whining. I tried letting him out to pee but when he comes in he keeps whining and i tried feeding him but it didnt work. I tried putting him in a seperate room but he scratches the door and the door has no paint left on the bottom. He only stops whining when i pet him but i cant pet him all day! Please tell me what to do.
 
Try and give him more attencion. Mabye just sit there petting him. Or try and play with him. He prob just wants to be played with. If you cant be with 24.7 then mabye try and get another dog for company it will prob take his mind off the whining

i kinda has the same situation except my dog sleeps outside but when we let her in, she stops whinning... but she starts whinning as soon as she hears us in the morning...
 
Just curious, how old is Furby? Has he always whined? Did you add a new dog? In any event, just make sure that Furby has toys in the area that you are confining him. It is important though, that Furby (and the other dogs), get outside exercise EVERYDAY. Just stay consistent, and don't give in. Good luck!
