My dog won't stop eating dirt...?

She feels like some mineral or vitamin is missing in her diet and she's trying to get it from the earth.

She may have a vitamin deficiency. Animals will eat strange things if the need a mineral or a vitamin.

My back yard is all dug up because we are getting ready to get a pool and my puppy won't stop eating the dirt. I can't seem to get her to stop and I think she is going to get sick if she doesn't stop eating it. Why is she doing this? How can I get her to stop?

Shes just being a puppy...mine ate dirt, asphalt, stones,sticks, you name it she ate it or at least tried. She will outgrow it mine did.

there might be a number of reasons why your puppy is doing this but she might be missing a mineral in her diet, I would ask her vet what she thinks.
