my dog is a 5 year old german shepherd x and has recently started to whine after we get home. He pants and whines at the same time, what could this mean? should i be worried?

Does he go to the vets regularly? Be sure it is not medical. He could be wanting to stay out longer or he could be in pain from the walk. It's up to you to watch and be observant and see what you think. Experiment....see if he wants to go out immediately again, or does he lay down and want to rest???

perphaps he whines B cause he wants to keep walking or he stll wants your company. I wouldnt worried .

no you shouldnt be worried at all. my 3 dogs did this for a while and the reason is that the walk wasnt long enough and they want to go out again for longer.. that is what i researched and the vet told me!!!

Some breeds of dogs can take ages to calm down from a walk there adrenal is still ticking over.
Try finishing of your walk with some training make him use his brains which he wont be using out on a walk,make him mentally tired
