My dog is a fifteen pound Jack Russell Terrier and he was hit by a car two hours ago, there are barely any cars coming up and down our road (we live in the middle of no where) so it surprised me when i heard tires squealing and my dog yelping.
Anyway, there is something really wrong with my dogs' leg, jaw, and eye... His leg has a bump where the knee cap is, and i think his knee is dislocated... His jaw is disfigured slightly but he can still move it and eat, it looks like he has an under bite.. and his left eye is looking up constantly, i don't think he can look forward or down with that eye. He is drinking a lot but he seems to be in severe pain. I can't take him to the vet as my dad won't let me... My dad is the type that if a dog gets injured too severely to heal at home he will shoot it in the backyard and bury it. He is a hunter and he has seen many hunting dogs gored to death and he has shot many dogs that are too old/injured to work anymore. He says all of his dogs are working dogs, not pets and once they aren't able to work anymore they are useless... He is 100% hick and hunter so he doesn't really care at all about how hurt my dog is... He pretty much said he will either take the dog outside and shoot it, or i can attempt to care for him myself so i am trying to care for him now... My dad doesn't even go to the hospital/doctor when he is severely injured so i know there wont be any convincing him to take my dog to the vet. Does any one know what could be wrong with him and how to help him?
A cab out here? A cab wouldn't get here for hours, if it ever made it at all. I said we live out in the middle of NO WHERE already.
No one is reading my question obviously, PLEASE READ WHAT I SAID... I CANT TAKE HIM TO THE VET!!!!! Please give me some helpful advice, i do not want my dog to die!

My goodness, your dog is in a real lot of pain. If possible, please take him to the nearest vet or someone you know who can help, no matter how far. I am aware that you live "out in the middle of no where," but do the best you can for your dog. Even if that means calling the humane society, having them give you directions to their nearest clinic, & having them euthanize your poor dog.

I'll say it, I'm very sorry for what has happened to your dog. And I'm very sorry but your dad is very selfish, dogs are pets not JUST working dogs.Try and make your dog somewhere comfortable to lie down in, get some really cold ice on his jaw, eye and leg and try fashion a splint and gently press it to your dogs knee area, get a bandage and tie it to the home made splint so it stays in place and REALLY supports it. I wish you good luck there isn't a lot you can do, Im sorry. I hope he feels better soon
