My Dog Is shedding More then ever! Hes getting dozens of tiny bold spots, what do i use?

My dog is a Miniature pincher, hes bigger then other pinchers. Hes average weight for his size.
His coat is black and gold and the bold spots are on the side of his chest. They look like bold clouds. There alot of small bold spots on both side of his chest.
What kind of brand food should i give him and what shampoo?
