My 17 pound welsh corgi mix was bitten by my other larger dog about 4 hours ago. I went to give him a bath after the fight happened and noticed the bleeding and the puncture wound. The wound is not too deep and is not that wide at all. I tried applying pressure to the wound for a while to help stop the bleeding but, 4 hours later and he's still bleeding. I know in all reality, he will not die from this but I love my pets and all animals and care for them like I would my own family. It is a little past 2 am right now and obviously my vet is not open at the moment. Should I go to my vet tomorrow? Should I let the wound heal on it's own? Is there anything I can do to help my corgi?
I can't take him right now! I wish I could but it's 2 am where I live and I don't know of any 24 hour vets in my neighborhood. Plus, I don't drive and my mom's fast asleep for work tomorrow.
The wound is on his neck, which is mainly why I'm concerned. My mother and I applied bandages to him and they all fall off! We even tried to secure it with tape but it won't adhere to his fur.
