My doctor says I have scoliosis. I never heard of having this condition

before. I am 58 years old and? retired from the military after serving 21 years. I don't think retirement would have been possible for me if I had this physical condition during enlistment. How did I get scoliosis?

You probably had scoliosis all your life but went unnoticed because it was not severe, but your last doctor was more thorough and noticed it upon examination.
