do you have the spooler working??..right click on the clock...go to task manager and then services...scroll down until you see "spooler" or print spooler...right click and start service..

or try rolling back a driver on the system devices setup

also try uninstalling the drivers..printer drivers only!... unplug the printer...restart ya computer and plug in your printer..once everything has loaded

computer should try and install them from the internet or get them from the disk which was in your box..if not then download them from the dell website and make sure you download the right ones for your printer
 
I have installed the driver and i am currently using windows vista but it wont print! WHY??
The print Spooler is started. I have uninstalled the printers and reinstalled. It does work on Vista because it downloaded and installed the drivers when i plugged it in.
