my dawn of war 2 doesn't run correctly?

i just installed dawn of war 2 and when i try to play it, it kind of lags. i haven't tried online yet but when i managed to play campaign it still lags. my laptop specs 4gb RAM 500gb hard drive 200 - 300 dedicated graphics + 600 and an AMD dual core. i also run on windows 7 64 bit
