...ideas what? So my 3 1/2 yr old daughter was diagnosed with autism at 18 months old. Right around when she turned 3 her personality changed and she suddenly became very aggressive and violent, doing self-harm and harm to others. Biting herself til her lip bled, using objects as weapons, hitting, kicking, clawing, biting, pulling hair, ripping hair out, picking, you name it. And the older she gets the worse it gets. Her speech has gotten alot better she talks decent now with some echolalia but can talk simple sentences. Peeps always told me that with autism when they can't communicate well, their behaviors go up but with her, it's the opposite, it got worse. And now she uses her words destructively too. She constantly now screaming at everyone telling them to "shut up! Get out of here! Go away! bug off! Sit down now!" etc. and she has these severe mood swings that come out of nowhere and she'll just go all out and freak out and attack anyone near her. She then acts like a feral animal that has no control over herself. I think she even scares herself sometimes. Her behaviors are ruling the household. Recently it's gotten really bad where she started doing when she gets mad this weird involuntary tic like body actions like repeatedly swinging her arms or shruggin her shoulders and acts paranoid and scared at times of people close to her and acts up and hits them screams "go away! Get out of here" etc. then later she'll just magically stop and act completely fine and then later on might just start up again out of nowhere. Sometimes when I take her places she acts like I'm kidnapping her and hits me and screams "go away! Let go! Quit hurting me! Leave me alone!" and drags herself on the floor. She's bit a kid at a support group on the back. Smacked a kid at a birthday party this Sat and hit me a bunch and on the face and freaked out. She also just started doing this weird excorcist like voice. She'll be talking to you fine then just suddenly switch over to a scary super deep voice then suddenly switch back again! Creepy! It comes out of nowhere and she doesn't laugh at herself or anything. And she just started randomly here and there pointing and saying she sees things that aren't there, like yesterday between an attack she did she said and pointed to the ground saying there was a blue dragon. Last week she claimed she was sitting on a pink fish. Sunday she freaked out at a friends house and was acting paranoid and didn't want to sit down to eat for some reason and started the wierd tics with her arms and pointed to the garage(nothing there) and said they didn't want her to sit down. And it's weird cause then later on she'll just be completely fine and sweet. She just seems to have these severe mood swings that are all internal. She'll be playing completely by herself and talking to herself then suddenly just blow up and knock all the toys she's playing with down then run over to the other side of the room and knock stuff over or hit someone and throw stuff. She every few months will rub feces all over herself and her surroundings. She likes to pull the skin off her upper lip to bleeding and has picked at her hand causing an open wound. She acts mostly like this at home though and durin her therapy at home the least at school but the bus driver told me they are having a hard time with her mouthing off shredding up her homework and hitting kids and escaping her seat. Funny too cause she'll go to her room when mad and can just lay there for hours doing nothing content. She loves puzzles, letters and numbers. She still sometimes likes to line things up in rows, walk on tip toes, walk in circles and such but alot less. it's mostly now behavioral. She's gotten intense ABA therapy for over a year and I'm in the process of switching to DIR cause it's hasn't helped with her behaviors at all, it actually makes them worse. Shecan be very defiant, and anything we're doing with her she doesn't want to do. Oh yeah, and recently after having a really bad meltdown, the kind that she acts so crazy that it seems like she's not all there, like she lost herself a bit, very scary to see and she can hyperventilate and zone out when she calms down and recently just started saying "i'm sick" "I need godoctor. I need bandaid". oh and she started to also just randomly freak out and act like someone hurt her and yells out"Mommy, sister just bit me" or "mommy hit me" etc. when no one touched her or is even near her. She basically just makes stuff up and acts like someone just hurt her and blames whomever is near her. and I tell her, don't act and say people are doing things to you if they aren't, cause that's not nice/ but it just doesn't seem to register. She'll sometimes think hurting people is funny and has extreme emotions and is very irritable. It goes on
