my dash on my 1998 chevy malibu went out as i was trying to put in my aftermarket

deck. how can i fix it? so i went to put in my aftermarket deck into my 98 malibu but seems like a lot went wrong. first off i dont know if i'm missing a chord because my deck wont get power when turn on the car so i could use some help with that. also, my dash went out as soon as i went to turn the car on and power the lights. i don't know what to do can someone please help me so i can get one or both working. thank you
 
DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY.
Then check your wiring. Make sure you have the wires connected correctly. Especially the power connection. See if any wires are touching bare metal or crossed.
Then check your fuse box for a blown fuse.
Finally reconnect your battery.
