talk to your dad, tell him how you feel. maybe when you have saved part of the cost, maybe half, he could pay the other half. or maybe when you buy your car he could pay for the first year of insurance
you are lucky he wants to buy you a car. i didn't get my first car until i could afford it and the insurance. paid my own way through college also. made me feel like i'd earned both but i wouldn't have objected to some help along the way
