So, i'm not sure if am making an unwise decision or not....I have a horrible achy spot in my esophagus, my esophagistis has WORSENED after trying 3 or 4 different ppi's and i have tried sooooo many things that i've posted on here after having this for oh sooo many months now. I take prilosec twice a day 20 mg, i have been taking the pm dose every 2 days now. I feel alot less bubbling in my stomach and fullness. But i am getting some of the rebound reflux treating with aloe vera juice and dgl). I am sure many on here are pro ppi and don't want to touch my difficult case with a 10 foot poll (opinion wise) buuuut what if ppi's are making me sicker?? My digestive problems have gotten sooooo much worse since dr upped my dose last October, its never gone away, every day. Dr of course says its not meRAB (but i've heard this before and it was). I really don't want another endoscopy right now (last one was July 2009-mils esophagitis and gastritis) b/c i hated my last one and b/c he is going to confirm an erosion or ulcer where i feeel and then what i've had horrific side effects with carafate (which coats ulcers), ppi's, he doesn't want me on the reglan drugs due to side effects i am prone to (anxiety, depression), so it will just make me worry and visulaize what is there, i want to heal it. But i am really hoping in my crusade to survive this (i've lost 25 lbs on already slim frame, i'm down to 111) that i do not have a bleeding ulcer that will perforate my throat? *sigh* I am truly realizing that i have never felt sicker than after he upped my dose last year. I have a good theory as to what caused my first episode last June 2009 that caused me to seek help (medcines, stress and diet) but i feel like my body does not like ppi's.
Throwing this out there to see what others have gone through. Thnaks for reading.
Ps. I just read a book i saw posted on here (some time ago), yesterday and its amazing, for every digestive ailment. Probably the best and most thorough book i have ever gotten on digestion...No More Heartburn by Sherry Rogers...anyone read it?
