My cmputer image goes crazy and freezes when i play video games on it?

When i play any game with Steam (not sure about non-steam games) it evenyually starts qlitching out and freezes leaving me to restart my pc,and it gets REALLY annoying having to restart mt pc while in the middle of a game,can anyone help me?
