My clown fish wont eat or explore my tank?

I've got a nano aquarium that finished it's cycling process about a month or so ago. My set up is a 10 gallon tank with 10lbs live rock, 20lbs. live sand and three step filter and a power head. I check my water levels routinely-- nitrates, nitrites, PH, ammonia, Alkalinity, salinity and hardness-- all of which are at normal and non threatening levels. So none of this should be a problem.

So I purchased a clown fish several days ago and assimilated him via the drip method. It took several hours-- with about one drip per second. Once I released him into the tank he immediately started hiding, which I suppose is relatively normal for a fish in a new environment. However, it's been almost a week now, and my fish will not stop hiding behind my filter. He barely moves from an area no bigger than a few inches and I don't understand why. He's showing no signs of physical distress as he seems to be healthy-- he just wont leave this particular area of the tank. Is this normal? I've been trying to feed him and it doesn't seem like he's willing to leave the spot to eat so I'm not sure what to do. I would think that after a few days he would try to explore the tank, but even when I move the filter out of the water he has no desire to swim anywhere. He just stays in one place and swims in place.
