My Chevy Colorado 2004 is having difficulty starting?

Car Trouble

The starter motor seems to be turning, but the engine is not turning over. The battery terminals look clean. I don't know about the solenoid, though. After tapping the starter motor and solenoid, the truck starts and runs fine.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

the starter might be turning the engine but is it turning slower than normal? is it struggling to turn the engine? take the car to autozone while its running and have them do a battery and alternator test check with the electrnoic hookup thingy. it will tell you if your battery is good or bad and if your alternator is good or bad. then if those two check out you can turn to other things like spark plug wires. plugs. and starter.

If when you tap on the starter it runs, then the starter is either going bad or loose. Take it to a shop and have them do an inspection (one of the free ones) and see what they say. A loose starter is a good thing, easy fix. If it is bad still easy fix but a little bit more pricey.
