I have a 92 pickup with a 350. New plugs, dist rotor and cap, wires, fuel filter, rebuilt throttle body. Problem is it still runs horrible, misfires at startup and then runs fine. After it is at running temp. it runs the same, wants to die. I thought it was the MAP sensor but it turned out to not be it. Then I unplugged the IAC valve and it seemed to miss out less. Before I unplugged it, the engine would race RPMs then try to die but quickly jump back up in speed. Unplugged the temp sensor would fix it only for a half a minute then go back to its garbage idle.Still it runs like that when I unhook the egr valve as well. I am to my wits end on figuring this out. It ran fine a month ago then started this BS. So, would this issue be the IAC dying on me. Note: I did rebuild the throttle body but I did not replace the TPS and IAC, just cleaned them.
I replaced the coil but still the problem remains, so I took the new coil back.
