Today my cat had a bowel movement on my bed. This has never happened before in the 15 years I've had him, with the exception of accidentally locking him in the bedroom, but my door was wide open and he had easy access to his litter box. Before relieving himself, he was making a strange meow-like moan that you sometimes hear cats making. I haven't changed his diet or his brand of litter. Is it possible that he's getting at that age where he can't control his bowels anymore? Or is it possible that the urge to go struck him out of nowhere and he knew he wasn't going to make it to the litter box in time?
