...is growing thin. HELP? I adopted my two cats, Sascha and Murderface, almost two years ago while living with my ex. They were fine, but Murderface, the male of the two, would often pee on rugs, piles of clothes, etc, but rarely tile. Soon after, the ex and I broke up, and I moved into my own apartment. My cats were angels. They loved the place, and never peed on the all-carpet floors, and would sit by the window and play, etc. I attributed Murderface's past problems to the dirty/messy conditions of my ex's place. A few months later, I started dating my new boyfriend. I love him more than anything, and I really think that he is the one. Initially our relationship was long distance, and we'd see each other once a month. Murderface grew increasingly more fearful towards him, and would hide the whole time he was here, hiss at him, etc.
I moved in with my boyfriend just last month. We also adopted a dog who is very playful a couple of months ago, whom the cats are not too crazy about; however, my cats have been displaying aggression and anxiety towards my boyfriend. He tries to play with them, etc, but nothing works. They scratch him. They bite him. They pee on his shoes (ONLY while he's wearing them). If I leave the house for class, and they are alone with him, they will poop on the floor and play with it. This NEVER happens when I'm home, and has never happened in the past.
He keeps threatening to get rid of them. One of them bit him while he was trying to pick him up out of their poop fun. I truly don't understand. They've never done anything like this. I never heard them hiss until he came around, and I don't understand why him. The problems got worse when the dog came, but they have places to go that are off limits to the dog, and will mostly act aggressively towards my boyfriend without being provoked. It's mostly Murderface, the boy, but Sascha will hiss and scratch too if he touches her when she misbehaves. I don't think it's men in general, as they've never been this unruly with other male friends of mine. These cats are my babies, and are usually total angels, and I can not bring myself to lose them. I don't want to lose the love of my life, though.
How do you make cats and a man get along better?
