literally keep him in? as he loves to have the fresh air on his fur even for a few minutes. Or do i spray the fences etc to stop him going to other peoples fences, or just get a higher fence.

Cats do this. Much to the annoyance of neighbours.

I sometimes wonder what these cat owners (who are less responsible than you are) would do if I threw my crap into their garden.

Give him the best of both worlds - buy a litter tray and good quality litter, then let him out when he has had his poo.

He'll soon get the idea that he can play outside once he's done his business, tell your neighbour what you are doing so they know not to blame your cat for any poo in their gardens.

Cats love the outdoors its instinct and if he is used to going then he will persist until he gets his own way,

but neighbours can be funny about it but what we do is put a litter tray for our cats in the garden and they use that,i see them come home then go for a stroll again,

maybe a higher fence would do but knowing a cat they would find a way to get in to a garden, and cats are free to roam its the law that no one can harm them no matter what(it is here in UK)so if he loves it don't deprive him,

and if the neighbours are aware tell them to put a cat repellent down and even offer to buy some but if they don't know its your cat doing it then they cant blame it on yours without proof,

but try the litter tray in the garden its always worked for us.

Don't worry about it. At least cats bury their cr@p. I took my sons out for a walk the other day and there was dog cr@p all over the place.

Just let your cat out and let the neighbours get on with it. I have cats cr@p in my garden and it's just one of those things.
