My cat has suddenly become very cranky, mood swings, like menopause...?

My cat is cranky.

I can pat him and he is really happy about that, but when I pick him up he SOMETIMES gets cranky with me, sits there growling and hissing, then when i put him down he growls really loudly and when he touches the ground he hisses and runs away.

I noticed he is really jealous of the new kitten we have, even though we've had him for about 5 or 6 months now, and it has only been the past week where he has been seeming jealous and cranky.

I swear it's as if he has menopause.

Cats do go through developmental stages. Try and cozy up to him....slowly approach him. Spoil him a little bit, too.
