i have 02 maxima, and since few months it has been making the pinging sound whenever i drive and accelerate. There is no engine light or anything like that and i have been using 91 mobil gas. Sometime the pinging is quite loud but its always there. I went to pepboys and the mechanic didnt do any diagnostic cause of no engine light, he suggested me to use a bottle of octane booster and call it a day but that didnt work either,. What am i suppose to do? should i take it to different mechanic and have him do the diagnostic even though there is no engine light? i did get the tune up 35k ago so i dont think its the plugs. any help>? thanks.
