My car won't start when warmed up but starts when it's cool?

Ok, I'm not totally helpless when it comes to fixing my vehicles but I'd like another opinion. I have a 1995 Monte Carlo. The car starts up fine when the engine is cold. But after I drive for about 15 minutes and shut the car off it doesn't want to start. It cranks a couple of times then stops. Just like if it had a weak battery. But after it sits for like an hr or so,, it cranks and starts up. Today I warmed the engine and tried to jump start it to see if it would crank and it was no help. I think the starter is going bad even though it's only a couple yrs old. Somebody last night said it was probably my battery. Of course I will get the battery tested first but I was wondering if anybody out there had the same problem and what the problem was.
