My car was vandalized at my apartment who gets held accountable?

I live in an apartment and I park around the back there is a hill and and above that there is an abandon car-port. Someone from the top of the hill threw glass down on to my car and cracked my windshield. We called the leasing office and they stated that they didnt own that part above there it is a different apartment complex can I hold that apartment complex accountable and should they have to pay my deductible.
