I am 17 years old. Recently, my parents took my car keys and told me that I am not allowed to drive anymore. I paid for this car out of my own pocket, but it is in my dad's name, as I am not legally allowed to own a car being a minor. I was wondering what legal action I can take, since I will now have to walk about 6 miles each way to get to and from school. This all seems very unfair to me, but I understand that the car is legally my father's, and I do not know what, if anything, I can do to get my car back in my possession.
First off, I don't have to fess up anything. The reasons my car was taken have nothing to do with the question asked. My car was taken because my parents incorrectly believe that I am drinking and getting high all the time. I don't do either of those things and my parents have no way of proving that I did. I have given myself a drug test and came up positive, and my parents disregarded it because they don't want the embarrassment of telling me that they were wrong.
