my car want idle half the Time and im going through gas like crazy?

my 1991 ford tempo is acting up. when you start it up it starts up fine, but when at idling speed it goes high for a minute two. then it idles at a low rpm, when it gets to a curtain point it will star hhesitatingand ssometimesshut off. i know for a fact my car is getting more fuel than air i just ddon'tknow how. im going through gas like crazy. i have to fill it up every day. while idling you can also smell gas really bad on the driver side. engine light is on, code says its the 02 sensor, but i know better. the only thing i can figure is the cats stoped up or its my map sensor. im looking more into my tthrottlesensor. any advise or tips will be helpful
