My car screeches when i turn it on?

Mainly in the morning when i turn on my car it screeches for about 10-15 seconds. If i have the heat or a/c on when i turn it on it could go on for 30 seconds. I took it to good year and they said it's pulley is idol but they couldn't fix it so i went to Midas and they had no idea what i was talking about. It doesn't effect my driving, but it's embarrassing to turn on my car and have it start with a loud screech. What could be wrong? Is good year lying or is Midas an idiot?
Midas checked out the idler pulley and he said nothing is wrong with it.
My car is a 1997 infiniti J30

Eli, you have a drive belt that is slipping. There is a pulley called an idler pulley that has a bearing that may be seizing up when it is cold. I believe that is what Goodyear is saying.
Since you don't say what kind of car, make, model, engine, etc then everyone has to guess at answers. I think that you probably did not explain it right to the Midas folks.
My advise is to take it to a shop where there is a real mechanic working, like the dealership or a good independent shop.

Well, we know it is the belt. And if you have an idler pulley, then we know the belts are tight. So replace the idler pulley. It doesn't cost that much and it isn't that hard to replace.
