A few days ago, my LOW COOLANT light came on. I put water in it until I got to the store to get antifreeze. I filled it up with antifreeze. 2 days after, the low coolant light came back on. I didnt fill it back up and I drove it for another day. While driving today with the low coolant light on, the CHECK GAUGES light then came on and starting blinking. I drove about 1 mile, pulled over and popped the hood. It was pretty dark outside, but it appeared to be steam coming from a hose near the radiator/coolant tank. I let the car sit for a few minutes and afterwards it would not start.
Okay I barely know anything about cars, but I do know that my car ran out of antifreeze but the antifreeze was not leaking out. It was just used up pretty quickly. IF I fill it up with antifreeze will It start up so I can drive it at all? Will I be able to take it to a repair shop? Or should I just skip the antifreeze?
NO NO NO I CANT just have it towed and get someone to repair it because Im broke. But I really need advice on this because Im desperate. Please someone tel me what to do. I appreciate it. Thanks.
