...whats happening? My Car:
1974 Mazda 1300
1.3L 4 Cylinder Engine
5 Speed Manual Transmission
When i turn on my car it will run very hairy (possibly only on 3 cylinders). After driving the car for a period of time it will cough a little then run fine for the rest of the trip. Sometimes this will take only a block other times it can take 8-10 blocks. I don't think that it is a temperature issue as the same thing happens if it shutdown the car and start it again after it is warm. I have not noticed any loss it power once the car runs properly.
Also may be related or could be two separate problems the car also drops its coolant when driving and eventually get hots and drops the rest. I think this is a temperature issue as it seems to be getting worse as summer comes on. It appears to come out of the radiator cap through the over flow.
The is no coolant in the oil and the car does not blow white smoke.
I have also observed a drop in oil pressure from around 40psi while driving to 30psi while driving when the car is hot, i plan to change the oil this weekend to see if that brings the pressure back up
To try and combat both these problems i have
Replaced Thermostat
Replaced Radiator Cap
Replaced Water Pump
Checked and Cleaned spark plugs and leads (possibly could the leads be breaking down? i don't know how to check this)
Replaced fuel filter
However no luck!
Any ideas on what could be happening?
