my car overheated why wont it turn on?

okay my engine overheated couple of days ago and the reason for that is the my engine coolant had leaked completely. first of all if its leaking engine coolant where is the problem does it need a new water pump or is there a cut in a hose somewhere? and second if there was no water in the engine coolant tank and that caused the engine to overheat why wont the car start now that I put water in it? it just turns with a wierd noise and wont turn on. what do you think is the problem?
 
you screwed the heads or fried the motor. most engines today have aluminum heads which cannot handle the heat for very long. so you probably melted something together
