My car is making a SSSSSSSSucking noise in the coolent area when turned on. Help?

-When i take the coolant lid off it stops.
-When i put the lid on and turn the car on and give the coolent time to heat up it starts making a ZZzzzSsssSSZzsS noise quite loudly.
- Smoke builds up, the mass of smoke depends on how long the car has been running/moving
- I have some wet spots as well in the motor area from this

Any idea before contacting my mechanic on Monday.. its Friday night =/ right now.

I am going to try making sure nothing is loose thats visible

ps: this is for a 1992 rx7
