I have a 2003 Acura Tl with just over 180000 miles on it. Iv noticed that there has been a chirping (squeal like) noise coming from the car. The sound is not very loud and is kinda quiet until I turn the AC on then it gets noticeably louder. And it only gets loud when the AC kicks on and off while idling. Im not sure if its doing it while we drive because its really low, except for when the ac clutch kicks in then you can hear it. I kinda figured it was my belt(s) and I plan on replacing them this weekend along with the belt tensioner. What I want to know is that if i replace the belts and the tensioner will this solve my problem, Or could it be something else?
ALSO: I did notice when my wife and I went thru a small puddle the belt mad that loud obnoxious squealing noise for about 1-2 seconds. Thanks.
That's what I was thinking, minus the car exploding thing. I did however have goodyear look at it when they did some service for me and all they told me was that it was the belt and not the ac clutch. I was quoted to have them changed the belt for $100 so i said no. I can replace both belts and belt tentioner for just at $102 at autozone. But to my understanding its not the ac clutch, witch was my first thought. worst case scenario il have to replace that...
