I just bought a used car a week ago and it was a 1992 Lexus ES300. It has 148k miles and I just took my car to the shop to get my brake pads fixed and rear disc brake rotors and the mechanic said I needed a transmission flush, brake hardware, brake system flush. Just 2 days ago, I was dropping off my friend home and I was on top of a steep hill. I stopped fully and waited for the cars to passed by so I can proceed on my left turn. As I apply pressure on the gas pedal, the car didn't budge at all and my car started rolling. I was quick enough to put on the parking brakes and e-brake so it will fully stopped. I restarted the car and the gas pedal worked this time. As I dropped off my friend and I went home and I decided to test out the issue again. I fully stopped on another steep hill and as I try to press on the gas pedals, it didn't work. The transmission light was on and the airbag light was on and somehow my brakes didn't work so the car was rolling down really fast. I put on the parking brake and e-brake, still didn't brake and I quickly restarted the car again and the brake pedals finally worked, same for the gas pedal. I was wondering is it the transmission fluids that needs to be changed? Or later down the road the transmission will die really soon?
