...repair shop to pull it out? I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse and when I try to pull my ipod adapter out of the cigarette lighter, the whole face of my console pulls with it. I seem to think that to get it out, the console face must be taken off or else it will break. How much would it cost for something along these lines to be fixed at a local auto shop (or even jiffy lube)?
 
would suggest a car stereo shop. These guys are much more used to working with consoles and the like. you may want to try a little WD40 if it is seized it will release it. Also give the car a chance to cool down. Metal retracts when it cool might help release it.
