My Car! HELP! My hood will not stay down!?

I got in a small fender bender a week ago and my radiator/front hood area was pushed back a few inches. Now my hood will not stay down, and I am afraid of it coming up while I am driving and smashing my windshield. What is a cheap way to make sure it does not come back up besides tying it down?!

My suggestion to you is take it to local bodyshop and have them pull the front core support forward, and I would also replace the hood latch {safety} they should be able to do this repair for less then $150.00 and that should include the latch and labor to install it. It may be more money if they see more damage than you do. Do not move the hood back, it will not solve your problem. Do not use duct tape either

Any body shop can pull things back in line. Those parts aren't each one so strong, but they are strong together. Look at what is bent, which way it is bent, and grab it an pull it back in the right position. The very cheapest way to keep the hood down is to use duct tape, which is good for everything, but ducts. Don't close off air inlets. It is best to straighten and adjust the body parts to fit back the way they originally did.

Get to a shop and have them "pull" it. It should be under $60 if all you're looking for is to get it to shut again.

Don't put this off, could be a lot worse than just breaking the windshield. What if it flies off the car and kills someone? It's absolutely possible, guess who's responsible for the wrongful death lawsuit.
