My car battery was dead? I took it to a mechanic who fully recharged it.?

When I collected the recharged
battery,he warned me that I should have an auto-mechanic at hand when I kicked it over..in case of any electrical problems that could occur..eg. alternator,starter motor or even EFI. Do you think that this is necessary?Thank you.
