I have a 2000 Dodge Neon automatic. My question is this, I started on my way home and heard a snap and my engine still ran but it would not excel forward anymore. I tried it on 1st and 2nd and it still wont move. I tried reverse and that seems to work fine. Anyone out there knows what it might be?

you broke an axle or a cv joint in it one side of the axle works for reverse and the other side works in the forward gears,look under it and you,ll see an axle hanging down,you may also have lost the linkage for the shifter on it,that to will knock the forward gears out,good luck.
